Be A Gummer To Cut Cravings

Coming back from work you head straight for that namkeen or can’t resist having a dessert after a meal. Does that sound familiar? Well don’t worry, join the bandwagon of cravings. They are our body’s way of telling us ” I need this”, only that we mostly misinterpret them. What your body actually needs is a particular nutrient like magnesium when you crave for chocolate or sodium when you want to eat something salty. Gluttony doesn’t suffice the need it only adds extra pounds.

 Cravings are pretty okay if they happen once in a while but can be a big stopover when it comes to losing weight. Being a slave to the crave can make your diet a big blooper. Well, research has come to the rescue. All you need to do is to pop in some gum after your meal. Recent studies have shown that chewing gum after meals or when you have the snacky feeling can control cravings, improve mood and cut down on the total calorie intake. Chewing gum can save up to 100kcal everyday which you would eat otherwise in the form of snacks. So pick up your favourite brand of gum and chew on it, but keep it sugar free.
